
Amazon Prime Video has found three new cast members in Andrew Richardson, Zubin Varla, and Adam Young for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3.
The mega company’s entertainment wing announced the additions today, saying that the newcomers join a production which recently began filming at Shepperton Studios in the UK. Details about which characters from Middle-earth the trio will be playing have yet to be revealed.
Richardson is best known for his roles in shows like The Last O.G. and Extrapolations but will soon expand his resume with Peacock’s Ponies. Varla has appeared across television in roles for series like Holby City and Strike Back while also showing up for a few episodes of Disney’s Star Wars spinoff, Andor.
Finally, there’s Young, who has spent time on TV in Netflix’s The Witcher: Blood Origin and Set Education, though he also played a role in 2021’s Don’t Breathe 2. Amazon says Richardson will be featured as a series regular in The Rings of Power Season 3, with Varla and Young both set to appear as recurring characters.
Amazon confirmed The Rings of Power would return to Prime Video for Season 3 in February of this year. It was news that meant viewers would see more from The Lord of the Rings spinoff story following the shocking conclusion delivered with the Season 2 finale in October 2024.
Shortly after its Season 3 renewal, Amazon announced its first batch of new cast members: Jamie Campbell Bower (Stranger Things, The Twilight Saga) and Eddie Marsan (The World’s End, Happy-Go-Lucky). Bower is joining as a series regular, with Marsan on board in a recurring role.
Amazon has yet to announce a release date for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3. While we wait for more news, you can learn more about the Season 2 finale and how it sets up the next season.
