The First Five Minutes of Severance Season 2 Was Just Revealed at CCXP 2024

Spoilers ahead for Season 1 of Severance!

The first five minutes of Severance Season 2 have been revealed at CCXP in Brazil and they show a glimpse of the long-awaited aftermath of the events of Season 1 that is set to arrive on Apple TV+ on January 17, 2025.

The footage begins with a montage of the Overtime Contingency Protocol from the Season 1 Finale (where each character’s Innie was activated in the outside world), and we then cut to Mark in an elevator and back at Lumon as an Innie again.

We then follow Mark as he’s running through the hallways, with the camera twisting and turning as he does. When he stops, he opens the door to a room with green sofas, but nobody is there. We learn it is the Perpetuity Wing but there is no longer any art on the wall.

We then see a man over his shoulder, but he quickly runs away and we then cut again to Mark back in Macrodata Refinement. All of his old colleagues are gone and there are three new ones to take their place.

One of the new colleagues is Bob Balaban’s Mark W, and he asks Mark S if he would be open to using a different name. The other two characters are an Italian-speaking worker played by Stefano Carannante and another by Alia Shawkat.

Milchick comes in carrying blue balloons and says, “Welcome Back, Mark S. Been a minute.” And that’s it!

While that footage has yet to be released, Apple TV+ did release a new trailer for Severance’s new season that you can see above, and it’s an intense look at the next chapter in this thrilling story.

We see Milchick talking to Mark S on the outside, saying he should return to Lumon because his Innie is very happy at work. Back at Lumon, however, we see the aftermath of the finale and the team using that previously mentioned Overtime Contingency Protocol to become aware on the outside.

The following trailer is the first teaser trailer from October 2024 and not the new one discussed in this article.

As it turns out, Mark, Dylan, Helly, and Irv aren’t in trouble and have actually become the “face of Severance reform” and a bit famous. The crew then discuss what they discovered on the outside, including that Mark’s wife supposedly died a while ago but was seen inside Lumon.

The trailer ends with Mark S confronting Harmony on the outside, a glimpse of a room with grass and goats, a kiss between Mark and Helly, a watermelon carving and puppet of Irv, and a glimpse of these new recruits and a new child worker played by Sarah Bock.
