The Acolyte Fans Might Have Already Figured Out Who Gave Qimir His Scar

Warning: Spoilers follow for Episode 6 of The Acolyte.

The Acolyte’s latest episode sparked intrigue among fans as Qimir unveiled a scar that could connect him to an unexpected character.

Episode 6 of The Acolyte raised unsettling questions about identity and destiny while also revealing more about Qimir, aka The Stranger, and his mysterious past. Osha awoke on an “Unknown Planet” with Qimir and took the opportunity to get to know him better, with one exchange seeing her probe about a prominent scar on his back.

“Looks like someone stabbed you in the back,” Osha suggests to Qimir, to which he replies: “Someone who threw me away.” Osha then asks whether his Jedi Master was responsible for it (after we learned that he was a Jedi a “very long time ago”), but Qimir refrains from answering the question, and a long silence hangs in the air.

Fans have connected the dots and linked the scar to Vernestra Rwoh, especially since she used the lightwhip for the first time this week, and the scar resembled one that would come from such a weapon. Theorists also took it one step further and speculated that Qimir may have been Vernestra’s Padawan once upon a time.

Yeah, Vernestra Rwoh and Qimir had a falling out. Those are definitely light whip scars.

I think when Master Sol said to him “I sense something familiar” it was referring to being at the Jedi temple years before when Qimir was a Padawan. It makes sense now ✨ #TheAcolyte pic.twitter.com/F05s7N4oCc

We don’t know what happened to Vernestra between THR books and The Acolyte which is roughly a 100 years so she had plenty of time to take another padawan

Qimir was once a Jedi. Now he’s fallen to the dark side to “tip the scales.”

Vernestra his master that gave him that scar with her lightsaber whip?! 👀 #TheAcolyte pic.twitter.com/BIb2ZwJ83h

Reddit users also agreed that the revelations and events of this week’s episode were too coincidental for there not to be a connection. “Oh look Qi’Mir looks like he has some kind of whip scars all over his back,” one person mused, adding, “Oh look Venessa casually whipped out a light whip just to show it off this episode.”

“Those whip-like scars seared into Qimir’s back… it has to be from Vernestra’s whipsaber,” another person added. “Also, her behavior when they get to Khofar… she knows exactly what happened and who did it. It’s why she insisted on personally investigating and keeping the council out of the loop as much as she can.”

“Ok, so master Vernestra is definitely Qimir’s old Jedi Master right? With her whip saber being what left the scars on his back?” a third person quizzed, to which someone replied: “Would make some sense why Vern might want to cover it up. If HER failed padawan became a sith… that doesn’t look good.”

With only two episodes of The Acolyte remaining, there are plenty of mysteries to be solved (and perhaps four or five more to explore in a potential Season 2). IGN’s review of Episode 6 notes that “next week’s penultimate episode looks to finally fill in the blanks about what happened on Brendok,” at the very least.
