Marvel Rivals Details the Fantastic Four, New Maps, and Mode Coming in Season 1

The first season for Marvel Rivals is about to drop, and it’s going to bring the Fantastic Four along for the ride.

On January 10, Marvel Rivals’ first season titled ‘Eternal Night Falls’ will begin with new playable heroes, the Fantastic Four. The season will be divided into two halves, with Invisible Woman and Mister Fantastic coming in the first half, and Human Torch and The Thing arriving in the second half. There will also be three new maps, special events, and a new Doom Match game mode.

There will also be a new Battle Pass for players that includes “over double the content” of the Season 0 pass, with the Luxury Pass featuring 10 new costumes for the heroes.

The three maps that will be added to Marvel Rivals include Sanctum Sanctorum and Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown, which will arrive in the first half of the season, and Central Park which will be added in the second half.

The new Doom Match will also put 8 to 12 players in factions on a single map. Players will begin in different parts of the map and will earn points by knocking out enemies, and whichever faction includes the top 50% of players will be the winners.

NetEase and Marvel shared the story synopsis of the upcoming season which sees New York reeling from the effects of the Timestream Entanglement that strands Doctor Strange in the Entangled Astral Plane. While The Scarlet Witch rescues him, pages of the Darkhold scatter, leading to Dracula and Doctor Doom taking advantage of the situation to unleach their legions over NYC and setting up a clash with the Fantastic Four.

Invisible Woman (Strategist) – Able to create impenetrable force fields and become invisible, Invisible Woman can use stealth to explore locations that are too dangerous, and rescue civilians trapped by the creatures of the night.

Mister Fantastic (Duelist) – A genius scientist who can stretch his body, he’ll need to use his brains to build the Timestream Reintegration Device to end the cross-dimensional crisis plaguing New York City.

Human Torch (Duelist) – The younger brother of the Invisible Woman, the Human Torch is able to burst into flames and has been using his ability to burn Dracula’s legions.

The Thing (Vanguard) – The Pilot who flew the Fantastic Four on that that fateful space trip that gave them all superhuman powers, Ben Grimm’s exposure to cosmic rays gave him a rocky body and super strength that he’s using to defend New York City from Dracula and Doctor Doom.
