VG Entertainment Studio has announced Forest Reigns, a new story-driven first-person shooter for PC. It’s set in a post-apocalyptic Paris, where most of humanity has been wiped out and nature has reclaimed our territory. Survival crafting, a non-linear story, and a forest that can serve as both friend and foe in any given situation all combine to try and set Forest Reigns apart. Watch the first gameplay trailer above and the cinematic reveal trailer below.
“We’ve always had a passion for creating system-driven games, where the player’s freedom of action could shape the story and provide unique playthrough experiences. After years of multiplayer online production, we are now ‘back to the roots’ with creating Forest Reigns – a solid single-player FPS with a twisted story, exploration, survival, role-playing elements, and on top of all that, the interactive environment! This is the most daring concept we’ve ever explored. With Forest Reigns we aim to bring something cool and fresh to the genre,” said head of studio Ruslan Didenko.
Essentially, the encroaching forest is alive, and you’ll see how the iconic sights of Paris have been reshaped by an aggressive Mother Nature. If you attack the forest, it will attack you back. But if you play the situation just right, you can get it to attack your enemies instead of you. You’ll upgrade your weapons along the way in order to be better equipped, though you’ll also have stealth as a tool at your disposal as well.
