IGN can exclusively debut a deleted scene from Captain America: Brave New World ahead of its release on digital platforms April 15th and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on May 13.
The clip – which can be viewed via the player above or the embed below – sees President Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford) extend an apology and an unexpected invitation to the original super soldier, Isaiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly). A truncated version of this scene appears in the final theatrical cut of the Marvel movie.
In this scene, Ross acknowledges the vile treatment Bradley received at the hands of the US government as the first test subject in the super soldier serum program that created Steve Rogers’ Captain America.
In his Captain America: Brave New World review, Tom Jorgensen praised Carl Lumbly’s performance:
“In a relatively small amount of screentime, Lumbly shines, imbuing Bradley with bravado that becomes heartbreaking vulnerability as he’s again scapegoated by political forces, especially during a prison visitation in which he can’t even look Sam in the eye. Like in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Bradley proves to be a very strong character with which to ground the story’s human stakes.”
The home release’s digital and Blu-ray bonus content includes deleted scenes, a gag reel, featurettes, a filmmaker commentary and more. The film’s home release will be available in 4K Ultra HD with Dolby Vision and Atmos audio.
Brave New World will also be included in theCaptain America 4-Movie Collection, available digitally in 4K UHD, HD, and SD on April 15 and on Blu-ray and DVD May 13.
