Earlier in the day, Viz Media’s social media account uploaded a video in which the show’s producer and directors updated fans on the anime. Key among them was that the upcoming cour would continue the series’ trend of introducing additional scenes from the manga, including a new look and a captain’s bankai that was never revealed in the manga.

“Part 3 will show some brand-new, never-before-seen Bleach content,” chief series director Tomohisha Taguchi said. “We worked with Kubo-sensei again to create new scenes that would supplement the stories covered in the original manga.”

“As the new series director, I wish to maintain the animation quality established by everyone from Part 2,” series director Hikaru Murata said. “But if I’m to address any changes, we’re applying more CGI than Part 2, so I’m hoping the fans can look forward to seeing the improved quality of the animation.”

Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War’s new trailer also coincides with the announcement of a brand-new video game. Bleach Rebirth of Souls is a 3D action game by Tamsoft, the developer behind Melty Blood, which will follow the events of Bleach’s first major story arcs, the Soul Reaper and Arrancar arc. Although the game doesn’t have a release date, it will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam.

In our review of Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War’s first season, we gave its premiere episode an 8/10, writing, “Bleach shines in an adaptation that isn’t afraid to stray from the source material.”
