Marvel Series Agatha All Along Is a Genuine Horror Apparently

Marvel Cinematic Universe spin-off Agatha All Along sounds like a genuine horror series, as Marvel Studios head of TV and streaming Brad Winderbaum called it “really scary.”

Speaking on the Official Marvel Podcast, Winderbaum emphasized the show isn’t just a fun time akin to Agatha’s appearance in WandaVision, but is actually quite spooky. The Kathryn Hahn led series sees Agatha look to regain her powers by turning to a group of fellow witches.

“Agatha is really fun, but it’s really scary and it gets quite dramatic,” Winderbaum said. “She’s an amazing anti-hero and that show lures you in with the fun of Halloween, and before you know it, you’re crying.

“It’s a Marvel brand of scary. It’s a Halloween show. There are deadly stakes in this series. It’s a fun ride, but it’s a dangerous one.”

Alongside its horror themes, however, Agatha All Along is seemingly a musical too, as Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who wrote the Emmy-winning song Agatha All Along for WandaVision, have returned to write several numbers for the spin-off series.

The show also stars Patti LuPone’s Lilia, Sasheer Zamata’s Jennifer, Debra Jo Rupp’s Sharon, and Ali Ahn’s Alice as fellow covenless witches. It premieres September 18, 2024 on Disney+.
